Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest

Each year, the Department of English at San Jose State University holds the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest. This competition, named after the Victorian author who penned the infamous line “It was a dark and stormy night,” rewards that individual who submits the most cringe-inducing first line for an imaginary novel. I just read the book the The Lost: A Search for Six of Six Million , it is a nonfiction book about a man search for six family member who were lost in the Holocaust, very powerful book. He also touches on the Jewish religion and history which give it added balance.
